Where to See Fireworks in Detroit this Summer

What is summer in Detroit without an incredible fireworks display? Metro Detroit has loads of celebrations, festivals, and fireworks throughout the summer.

Watch as firecrackers light up the city skyline, burst over Comerica park, illuminate the river, or crackle over Greenfield Village. Enjoy live music, food vendors, and family fun at area festivals. This summer is the perfect time to stretch out on a blanket, stare up at the sky and watch a dazzling light show across many Metro Detroit locations.

Check out this list of fireworks displays throughout Metro Detroit. The dates range from late June through mid-July for most of the area's festivals and exhibits. But if you miss the early summer fireworks shows, you can always catch a Friday Night Tigers home game for Friday Night Fireworks after the game. It's time to get your Red, White, and Boom on!

Comerica Park Friday Night Fireworks

2022 Ford Fireworks

Date: Monday, June 27, 2022

Location: Hart Plaza

Where to park:

-Ford Underground Garage, 30 E. Jefferson

-Millennium Garage, 432 W. Congress

-Center Garage, 414 Renaissance Dr. West

Relish in Detroit's largest fireworks display that illuminates the city skyline. The Parade Company and Ford present the 64th Annual Fireworks along the Detroit River. his year's theme is, "Hey Detroit! The Sky Shines for You". This year the show will feature a celebration at Hart Plaza, with the show taking place from 9:55pm-11pm.

Rochester Hills Festival of the Hills

Enjoy family-friendly musical entertainment, food vendors, and Oakland County's largest fireworks show.

Salute to America

Date: Thursday, June 30 through Sunday, July 3, 2022

Location: Greenfield Village

20900 Oakwood Blvd, Dearborn, MI

Time: 5-10pm

Stroll through Greenfield Village and listen to live music from America's past, including choral singing, ragtime, jazz, and more. Dusk is the time to set up a blanket on the Village Green and enjoy an American tribute by Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The magical historical evening will have a stunning finale with the "1812" Overture performance, cannon fire, and fireworks show.

"Cars Under the Stars" Fireworks Spectacular

Date: Sunday, June 26, 2022

Location: M1 Concourse

Head over during the evening to enjoy food trucks, craft beer, and live music by Vavroom.

Downtown Fireworks at Highlands

Date: Monday, June 27, 2022

Location: Highlands

400 Renaissance Center floor 71, Detroit, MI

Make reservations in advance for a chance to enjoy a great view of the fireworks and a four-course meal. At 8 pm, the 72nd floor will also be open with a cash bar as an additional option for viewing the fireworks and enjoying the evening.

Lake Erie Metropark Fireworks

Date: Sunday, July 3, 2022

Location: Lake Erie Metropark

Enjoy a night in the open air with live music by Rick Lieder Trio, beginning at 6 pm and ending with a stunning fireworks display.

Livonia SPREE is a weeklong celebration of the founding of Livonia. The celebration comes to a close with a Grand Finale Fireworks Extravaganza.

The Freedom Festival is a fun-filled day starting with a Firecracker run in the morning, followed by a parade, arts and craft fair, food trucks, and ending with fireworks.

Festival in the Park

Date: Sunday, June 26, 2022

Location: Civic Center Park, Madison Heights

The festival fun begins at 7 pm and includes face painting, inflatables, air-brushed tattoos, food vendors, and live music.

4th of July Independence Weekend at Detroit/Ann Arbor KOA

Date: Saturday, July 2, 2022

Uncle Sam Jam
