From beautiful theatres to delicious and classy restaurants, there is no doubt you will be amazed by choosing Detroit to escape to. Check out some of these great Detroit finds for a beautiful romantic weekend getaway.

Shinola Hotel

Visit this boutique hotel for your romantic weekend getaway! With unique room layouts, luxury amenities, and turntables, you can be sure to enjoy your romantic weekend in a cozy, unique room. You can even head downstairs for dinner at Shinola’s Italian restaurant.

The Townsend Hotel

Located in Birmingham, this hotel has earned a four-star rating and was named one of the “World’s Best Hotels” by TRAVEL + LEISURE magazine. You will have the ability to select from a variety of rooms including suits and a penthouse. The Townsend also offers dining at the Rugby Grille and afternoon tea on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Whitney

Enjoy a night out to eat at one of Detroit’s most prestigious restaurants. Located in a historic 1890s mansion, you can enjoy dinner presented as a three-course meal. If dinner isn’t what you’re looking for, you can also visit the Whitney’s Ghost Bar, visit for dessert, or participate in weekend afternoon tea. This is the perfect spot for a romantic evening.

The Detroit Institute of Art

Visit one of the many galleries at the Detroit Institute of Arts for a romantic museum date! Have fun exploring the galleries together and then stop for a bite to eat at the DIA food court. The museum has free admission for members and those living in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties. Film fans? You can visit the Detroit Film Theatre located inside the DIA to watch one of the many unique films for a small fee on view from Friday through Sunday.

Settle down for a cub a coffee or one of DOCR’s famous mocktails and relax on your romantic getaway! With locations in Detroit, Royal Oak, and Rochester, you can visit any one of their shops and explore the town, go shopping, or find a wonderful restaurant. DOCR often features live music and open mics if you and your partner want to show off your talent!

The Fox or Fisher Theatre

Spend a night at one of Detroit’s grand theatres! Designed with a beautiful interior, Detroit’s theatres are the perfect place to see a concert or a Broadway musical. Get dressed up and dance the night away or enjoy a world-class performance.

Motor City Wine

Choose from a variety of regional wines, listen to live music, and participate in a monthly wine tasting at Motor City Wine. Can’t make the wine tasting? If you find something you like, you can purchase it and enjoy a glass of wine in the shop! Motor City Wine is open until 1 am most days and until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays and has a beautiful courtyard for a romantic setting.

Enjoy one of Detroit’s best jazz clubs with your partner located in the heart of Downtown! Sit down for a drink, an appetizer, or dinner, and listen to live entertainment on your romantic weekend getaway. Sit back, relax, and get dressed up for a spectacular night of drinks, dining, and music!

This Irish, Italian, and German fusion is a go-to spot for any date night. With a carefully curated menu, you will be sure to enjoy dining here as part of your romantic weekend getaway! Already made dinner plans? You can stop by Cork and Gabel for a romantic brunch on Saturday or Sunday, enjoy cocktails, and choose from various delicious dishes.

The Ford-Wyoming Drive In

Get ready for an old-time date night feel and cozy up for a drive-in movie! One of the few drive-in theatre experiences in Michigan employs the timeless experience of a drive-in date at the Ford-Wyoming Drive-In. Located in Dearborn, you can catch new releases as well as classics and double features at this theatre.
