The Detroit Zoo is now open as of June 2020. Timed tickets are available online only by visiting their website. Discount tickets are available for $14 for adults and $10 for kids. All indoor viewing areas and retail stores are currently closed. Some dining options are available for curbside service, including American Coney, Buddy's Pizza, Dippin' Dots stations and more. Guests are expected to wear a mask while at the zoo. All of the Detroit Zoo's events have been cancelled through July. An animal lover's paradise, the Detroit Zoo is situated on 125 acres with many naturalistic habitats. Major exhibits include the Arctic Ring of Life, Australian Outback Adventure, Great Apes of Harambee, National Amphibian Conservation Center, Holden Reptile Conservation Center, Penguinarium and Butterfly Garden.
Detroit Zoo EventsThe zoo has an array of exciting activities for all ages year-round. One of the most popular events is Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo, where the entire zoo is lit up with Christmas lights and holiday cheer. Adults can also enjoy the zoo at Zoo Brew, which features craft beer, live music and zookeeper talks. You can also join Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo, a 5K and 10K that raises money for animals at the zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center.
