Overview
Eastern Market After Dark returns Thursday, September 17, the biggest night of the 16th annual Detroit Month of Design. The free, all-ages event sprawls through Eastern Market's sheds, streets and storefronts, turning the whole district into one giant night market. Shed 2 becomes a Creative Pavilion with 125+ Detroit-area designers, artists and community organizations under one roof, plus a live entertainment mainstage, gallery pop-ups, installations, bars and food trucks. Just steps away, the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy lights up the Dequindre Cut with a silent disco and kid-friendly activities. Join the Slow Roll bike ride through the district and explore as the neighborhood stays open late. Come early, wear good shoes, and make a night of it.
A standout night of Detroit Month of Design, EMAD isn’t confined to a single building, the festival sprawls through Eastern Market’s sheds, streets and storefronts. It's a celebration of Detroit's creative community, hosted in partnership with the place that has anchored Detroit's makers and merchants for over 130 years.
Eastern Market After Dark is made possible by the generous support of the Gilbert Family Foundation.
