Overview
Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts believes public art should be experienced, participated in, and created alongside community.
Want to learn more about the Corktown neighborhood? Join local Detroit artists across the street from Michigan Central for a hands-on community mural activation. Attendees will help complete a series of smaller paint-by-numbers mural panels designed for all skill levels. No artistic experience is required, and all materials will be provided.
Participants will meet at the CPA Building, where you'll have the opportunity to learn more about one of the public art projects currently being developed in the neighborhood before heading across the street to Michigan Central for the paint-by-numbers mural experience.
After you finish painting, take a walk with us through North Corktown and connect with local grassroots leaders to learn more about ongoing community development projects throughout the neighborhood. Enjoy a fresh, Detroit-farmed dinner and drinks at Pink Flamingo after the tour. (Alcohol will be available for purchase)
