Overview
Where We Belong: The Architecture of Home is an immersive art, design, and community exhibition exploring home as memory, identity, architecture, inheritance, and belonging.
Presented by Abayomi CDC as part of Detroit Month of Design, the exhibition brings together work by local artists, community stories, interactive installations, recorded testimony, live portraiture, design ephemera, and opportunities for visitors to contribute their own memories of home.
Visitors can explore the exhibition, step inside private story booths, participate in the evolving installation, and help imagine what meaningful pathways to homeownership and staying in Detroit can look like.
Artwork will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition, with proceeds and a closing auction supporting the development of Abayomi CDC’s community homeownership fund.
