If you’re looking to host a large event in Oakland County, here are some great places to host one.
Suburban Collection Showplace
If you’re looking to book an expo or tradeshow, the Suburban Collection Showplace is a great spot in Oakland County.
Just about a half hour form Downtown Detroit and closer to the airport, it has over 305,000 square feet of exhibition space with 6,000 parking spaces on site.
On top of the actual showplace, they have an event center, a Diamond Center for conferences and meetings and a wedding and banquet center.
There is also a hotel attached to the expo center, which means your guests can stay on-site.

The Westin Southfield
With easy access from Downtown Detroit and Detroit Metro Airport, The Westin Southfield is a great spot to host an event.
In all, they have 31 event rooms with more than 47,000 square feet of space. The largest space has a capacity of 500, and you can combine spaces to host even more.
You can also add A/V equipment, and a food and drink package, whether it’s a breakfast or lunch, or a plated dinner depending on what you’re hosting.

Royal Oak Music Theatre
No matter what size event you’re hosting, the Royal Oak Music Theatre offers a beautiful, unique space for you or your company.
It has a built-in stage, state-of-the-art lighting and sound, different bars, tables, chairs and more. It can accommodate up to 2,000 guests and is easily accessible from I-75 and close to Downtown Detroit.
While they don’t have food on site, they do have a list of preferred caterers that they work with for your event.

Detroit Zoo
The Detroit Zoo is a premiere zoo in the country, and they have plenty of great spots to host a large indoor or outdoor event.
There are nearly a dozen different spaces that can host your private event throughout the zoo, or you can host your event at the zoo after hours.
It offers 125 acres of space with habitats that house more than 3,000 animals, the private zoo evening includes the main picnic tent, the Polk Penguin Conservation Center, railroad train, carousel, parking and admission for up to 1,000 guests.

Meadow Brook Hall & Gardens
A historic mansion and garden in Oakland County, Meadow Brook is a beautiful and great spot to host a large event.
They can accommodate hundreds of guests in a variety of different options, and events also help support a national historic landmark.
Events can also come with complimentary, informal tours of the historic mansion that was once the home of Matilda Dodge Wilson. It was built between 1926 and 1929 for $4 million and is “one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival architecture in America.”

M1 Concourse
M1 Concours features a private race track and garage in Pontiac, about a half hour north of Downtown Detroit.
They have a state-of-the-art event center next to the race track and pit lane, and it can accommodate events ranging from 20 guests all the way up to 2,000 guests.
You can work with the M1 Concourse events team to plan the perfect event for you, and it comes with in-house lighting, furniture, A/V equipment and live-stream capabilities.

Oakland County Parks
With nearly a dozen different parks throughout Oakland County, the Oakland County Parks system can host weddings, banquets, meetings, graduations, showers and more.
Some of the parks like Addison Oaks, Glen Oaks and Lyon Oaks offer beautiful, historic buildings to host events for hundreds of people, and there are plenty of casual venues and outdoor locations.
