The NFL Draft will attract hundreds of thousands of fans to Detroit from all over the world this April, as visitors come to town to watch the next generation of NFL stars make their way to the professional ranks.
In celebration of the big weekend, Prop Art Studios has fabricated twenty colossal football cleats which have been customized by talented local Detroit artists. Each artist has chosen a Detroit-based cause, non-profit, or charity and has partnered with local organizations for a unique project: designing custom cleats to uplift important causes they're passionate about.
This project showcases Detroit's creativity while raising awareness and support for our community. Each passionate artist sees the cleat as canvases to tell stories and spread awareness for a cause. Each design reflects the artist's vision and what they passionately advocate for.
By combining artistic expression with community support, this project celebrates Detroit's talent and spirit while making a real difference.
The cleats will be displayed during the month of April 2024 in and around the heart of downtown Detroit, as well as at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Coleman A. Young International Airport.
The cleats will be auctioned off online to benefit the charities chosen by each artist. The online auction will go live at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5, and close at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Bidding starts at $2,500 per cleat, with the option to purchase a cleat for $10,000.
