9 Mother’s Day Brunch Spots in Detroit (Voted by Detroit Foodies)

Modified: May 29, 2020 | Story by Heidi Tiano

There is no shortage of brunch restaurants in Detroit these days, whether you prefer the breakfast hour or lean a little towards lunch. We asked Detroit foodies on Instagram to name their best brunch spot to help you plan a great Mother’s Day brunch.

Rose’s Fine Food

(@karieewa)
Coined “the ultimate diner,” Rose’s Fine Food serves breakfast all day, 7 days a week. Shout out to the Breakfast Noodz or the Poodle Platter.

Avalon International Breads

(@billionaire_billy)
Avalon International breads turns its artisan breads made of 100 percent organic flour into amazing breakfast sandwiches (among other things) – like the J.A.B., corned beef, eggs and swiss atop an herb-cheddar biscuit.

Parks and Rec Diner

(@kathybondyfessler)
Aptly named for its location inside Detroit’s former Parks and Recreation Department, Parks and Rec is a small but popular restaurant that has become a brunch hotspot. Go for the lamb bacon or goat cheese-iced cinnamon roll.

Brooklyn St. Local

(@veggie_vixen)
Weekday breakfast and weekend brunch menus at Brooklyn St. Local ranges from poutine to scones and everything in between.

Dime Store

(@mfrancey)
With mouth-watering choices like the Philly Cheesesteak Benny – not to mention a full bar – Dime Store has become another Detroit brunch hotspot.

La Dolce Vita

(@madamedevereux)
Nestled in the Palmer Park District, La Dolce Vita has an Italian-inspired menu and great patio make it a great choice for brunch.

Kuzzo’s Chicken & Waffles

(@miz_jay1)
The name says it all. Though there are plenty of other just-as-delicious items on the Kuzzo’s Chicken & Waffles menu, it’s really one of Detroit’s best chicken and waffles dish.

Hudson Café

(@michiganfoodist)
A great balance of savory dishes and sweet options give brunchgoers plenty of choices at this Woodward Avenue staple. The Hudson Cafe is a downtown favorite.

Detroit Institute of Bagels

A Detroit Institute of Bagels photo we posted on Instagram got plenty of drools (or more specifically, “Likes”) from our followers. If you want a well-made bagel sandwich, head here.
