Bucharest Grill

Known as a downtown favorite for a quick lunch at a great price, Bucharest Grill (located on Michigan Avenue in Corktown, East Jefferson Avenue in Rivertown and Piquette Street) serves food that ranges from traditional Romanian dishes to middle eastern cuisine to hot dogs dressed in “every way imaginable.” Click here to view Bucharest Grill’s menu for carryout.

Voted “best deli” seven years in a row, Mudgie’s is located in Corktown on Porter Street. It serves the “freshest quality” foods, wines, cocktails and craft beers, and delivery is also available. Mudgie’s Deli’s menu is also online.

For the Health-Conscious Eaters:

7 Greens Detroit Salad Co.

Located on Library Street, 7 Greens Detroit Salad Co. prides itself as a fresh destination for “healthful, great tasting food” to enjoy in a “fun, fast, casual and gourmet way.” With options for both taking out and dining in, 7 Greens’ menu includes several salad suggestions but also encourages its customers to “fashion your own.”

Fresh, imaginative vegetarian cuisine is Seva‘s mission. On East Forest between Woodward Avenue and John R, customers will have the opportunity to indulge in Seva’s menu options, full of vegetarian appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees, all of which are also available for carryout.

For the Grilled and Smoked Food Lovers:

Green Dot Stables

Slows Bar BQ

With its main location on Michigan Avenue in Corktown and a to-go extension on Cass Avenue in Midtown, Slows has certainly become a staple restaurant in Detroit. From pulled pork to dry-smoked ribs, Slows Bar BQ’s menu is sure to satisfy its customers.

For Those Looking for Good Beer, too:

HopCat

Detroiters know HopCat for its beer, which is not surprising since it features 130 taps. In addition to its brew choices, however, HopCat’s food menu features a variety of options for different palates, making it an excellent lunch spot on Woodward Avenue.

Jolly Pumpkin

Best known for its pizza and beer, Jolly Pumpkin on West Canfield has become quite a popular destination for lunch, so much that President Barack Obama even dined here this winter. Click here to view Jolly Pumpkin’s menu.
