Food Trucks
If you happen to be near Campus Martius during lunch time, you’ll be lucky enough to have your pick of almost any kind of cuisine imaginable. Everyday, you can check out the food trucks in Campus Martius, Cadillac Square and the Spirit of Detroit Plaza. Some of our favorites are Hero or Villain, Mac Shack, Nu Deli and Delectabowl.
Avalon Bakery
New to the Campus Martius food scene is Avalon Cafe & Bakery, where you can pick up grab-and-go sandwiches, salads and drinks, or dine in for wood-fired pizza, bakery items, breakfast food and more. Oh, and there’s a bar inside for happy hour drinks.
7 Greens Detroit Salad Co.
Located on Library Street, 7 Greens Detroit Salad Co. prides itself as a fresh destination for “healthful, great tasting food” to enjoy in a “fun, fast, casual and gourmet way.” With options for both taking out and dining in, 7 Greens’ menu includes several salad suggestions but also encourages its customers to “fashion your own.”
Brome Modern Eatery
With convenient online ordering and quick service inside, Brome Modern Eatery is great for a quick lunch of all natural burgers, fun salads, and fries galore. Plus, there is a juice and smoothie bar upstairs if you are looking for a lighter lunch option.
Lunch in Corktown
Mudgie’s Deli
Voted “best deli” seven years in a row, Mudgie’s is located in Corktown on Porter Street. It serves the “freshest quality” foods, wines, cocktails and craft beers, and delivery is also available. Mudgie’s Deli’s menu is also online.
Bucharest Grill
Known as a downtown favorite for a quick lunch at a great price, Bucharest Grill (located on Michigan Avenue in Corktown, East Jefferson Avenue in Rivertown and Piquette Street) serves food that ranges from traditional Romanian dishes to middle eastern cuisine to hot dogs dressed in “every way imaginable.” Click here to view Bucharest Grill’s menu for carryout.
Green Dot Stables
Green Dot Stables in Corktown doesn’t just have sliders; it has 20. From vegetarian to fish to somewhat familiar to totally new, Green Dot Stables’ menu not only offers small sandwiches but also fries (yes, even truffle!), sides, salads, soups and desserts.
